On April 19, 2011 the government of the Bahamas announced a new investment policy for Immigration. The new policy will give accelerated consideration to provide permanent residency to substantial investors and individuals purchasing a residence of $1.5 million or greater. According to the new policy, applications will be reviewed within 21 days. Permanent residence is a status issued to an individual for the duration of his/her life.
