Kim Victoria Aranha is a Bahamian who grew up on a private island in the Berry Islands, Bahamas. The daughter of a founding member (1959) of the Lyford Cay Club, as a small child she would spend her days in Nassau at the Lyford Cay Club. Kim was home schooled until she was 11 years old and then went to Brillantmont in Lausanne, Switzerland to complete her O & A levels. After high school she attended "Le Fleuron" in Florence and studied Architecture in Lausanne, Switzerland, but had a change of heart before completing and went to Rome, Italy to study and work with Italian theatrical director Alessandro Fersen, studying the Stanislavski method acting principles. In 1980 Kim returned home to the Bahamas and married Bahamian Pilot Capt. Paul Aranha. They have two grown sons. Kim is co-chairman of the Bahamas Sea Turtle Conservation Group that successfully obtained the total ban on the harvesting sea turtles in the Bahamas. Kim is also President of the Bahamas Humane Society since 2006, and recently produced the popular UK version of"Othello", "The Tragedy of Conchy Joe" at the Dundas Theatre. Her first Children's book "The Adventures of Maya Moon" is due on bookstores early November '12. An avid traveler, she is happiest at home with her family and pets. |
